Re: Mages of the Tricore
The Reaper appeared to target Kleis and Kleis only, charging at her and trying to strike her from behind a dust cloud. However, Kleis dashed backwards, the attack just barely scraping her (8% + bleeding). Her sword began to glow orange as Kleis thrust into the Reaper's stomach, injecting the venom in her sword into its small body. (10%-14% + poison)
The Reaper's familiar rose out of the earth. It was, in fact, a giant segmented worm. The worm stared hungrily at the two Mages, before burrowing back into the earth.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
While the Reaper tenaciously pursued Kleis, Emirayha went all out shooting bright mind beams at it from behind. Although it hadn't yet targeted her, she had a bad feeling about the familiar.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Emirayha's attack hit the Reaper dead on; however, it just continued to target Kleis. Realizing that there was no way to deter the Reaper's attention from her, she threw a Shell Shield around herself and began to heal.
The Reaper backed away from the shield, spitting at it. Her familiar wrapped its body around it, effectively trapping Kleis. If the shield wasn't there, she probably would had have a clear chance to escape... She cursed quietly under her breath.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Emirayha still didn't know what else she could do. 'Boy, those reapers seriously don't like flies. Though I wouldn't blame them. Unless there's another reason why they're after Kleis....' She thought. Shrugging nervously, she continued to attack the reaper and its familiar and continued to be ignored. Then, perhaps out of cockiness or curiosity, she gradually moved in closer to follow through with more physical attacks such as clawing. If they turned on her, at least Kleis would have more time to heal. If they didn't, their hit points would be ground down much faster at no expense to Emirayha. Let's just hope it works out and no other factors come into play....

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Once Kleis decided to stop camping, she created a slit in her shield just big enough so she could thrust her sword through it. She pierced the worm's skin, causing it to unravel and let go of her. She dissolved her shield as the worm buried back into the ground, waiting for it to come up again.
The Reaper appeared to share the pain with her familiar, as she let out a painful wail. She knelt down and covered her head, oblivious the fact that Emirayha was clawing at her.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Even after going all out on the reapers, Emirayha was still just ignored. This annoyed her a bit, but it made her feel like she could get away with anything. With a rebellious attitude that was unusual for her character, she promptly kicked the reaper's behind (literally) and walked around to look for more clues as to what was left in the building. She'd honestly attempted to assist Kleis, but Kleis could probably fight for herself at this point. Even if not, Emirayha's attempts to help would do no good. With a sudden craving for jasmine tea, she scanned the grounds for clues, once more callous to the situation seeing that she could no longer influence it.
Emirayha: 45 minutes til knockout, perfectly healthy. Scanning for clues but still keeping her guard up.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Realizing that the Familiar and the Reaper were physically connected, Kleis let herself be trapped by the worm once again, before stabbing it with her poison-tipped sword. The Reaper began to spazz out, before becoming completely immobile. The battle ended when Kleis sliced the Reaper's head clean off, which also caused the worm's body to swell up and explode. The red orb that was dropped made its way into Kleis's hands.
Exhausted, Kleis acquiesced to her body's need to detransform. She leaned up against the building, trying to get some rest before joining up with Emirayha.
Emirayha would have found a small cupboard in the basement. Inside was a little sack, filled with little gray orbs, similar to those that Reapers and Mages drop when they kick the bucket.
Kleis: +8 Esse
Emirayha: +6 Esse

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Just as Emirayha had expected, Kleis did fine fighting on her own. Emirayha watched nonchalantly as Kleis decapitated the reaper and gained his red orb. Looking around the basement for clues, she found a sack full of similar gray orbs in the cupboard. She called Kleis over quickly.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Hm?" Kleis stared at the bag, a confused look forming on her face. "That's an awful lot of orbs there. There must've been a massacre or something."
There were about thirty or so orbs in the bag. They had a very, very dim red glow around them.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Maybe around the time the building collapsed? I still don't know what's going on, but I have a strong feeling that there will be a lot more reapers where that one came from. And not only will they pursue you, but also me and any other being in the area. We need to look further into this very, very soon."

Emirayha paused for a second as if she were pondering something, and then she handed Kleis the bag. "Here. Take a look."

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Kleis stared into the bag, amazed by how many orbs were in there. "That's about two hundred Esse," she said. "The Reapers must be hunting Mages."
Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Oh dear...." Emirayha thought. "Our team sucks!"
"Wow.... we should get a larger team or something. At this rate, we may need some backup. Looks like they have plenty of it." Emirayha said aloud.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Kleis frowned and paused to think. "I think we should start training." They really needed to start practicing their abilities. Even just so they can fight a Reaper like that alone. "Something tells me that they're just gonna get stronger."
Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Indeed. Let's begin as soon as possible, before this dilemma exasperates. It can't be too long before they start showing up at more personal places like homes and schools. Where should we start?"

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"We should find a way to start training during the day without running out of juice," Kleis said, taking the bag of orbs and placing it in her satchel. "All of the Mages and the Reapers are more active at night, and we're probably best off training without any interference. But we'll still need the energy to go patrolling."
Re: Mages of the Tricore
" I see.... how would we go about that?" Emirayha said, pondering the matter. "Well we can't stop patrolling completely just to get stronger. who knows what could happen while we take a break..... is there a way to inform other mages that we're training so that they can take a portion of our shifts for us, perhaps?"

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"I can contact a good friend of mine, he can probably take care of the area while we're training." Kleis looked up into the sky. The moon sat right in the middle of the sky, shining brilliantly down on the forest. "We should probably go and rest now."
Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Ok, sounds good." Emirayha replied.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Well, Kleis had to wait for the weekend before beginning her training, as she was busy with school and...erm, boy troubles. She entered the other dimension that was her home and began to prepare a sort of gauntlet she could use to train her accuracy and her evasiveness. That's all what she wanted to train today, she'll work on her speed and other stuff later.
Re: Mages of the Tricore
Emirayha practiced in the latent depths of her favorite alley everyday after school. Her skills became much sharper with each passing day. Her mine had been so beat up and abused over the years that it no longer responded to regular sentimental issues that formed from everyday life. She was completely numb.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Nightfall soon came, and Kleis was still in the other dimension, having just used up all of her energy training. She decided to get some sort of interaction, even though it was dangerous at night. But, as long as she stayed in the territory of a Mage she knew, she would be safe.
It was awfully chilly that night, as if winter came back to swallow the spring. Must be the Freemantle sisters, she thought, making a mental note to stay the hell away from their territory. The Freemantle sisters were fierce, and much more experienced than her. Plus, their ice powers would often freeze her wings and kill her bugs, so she really didn't feel like dealing with them.
Kleis: +5 Esse from training.
Emirayha: +7 Esse from training.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Emirayha may have been in reality at that moment, but the excitement made if feel as if she were in another world. She got lost in training until long after dusk. When she had the epiphany that she had been out far too long, she paused and headed for home, pondering the events of her day.
Emirayha almost never stayed in one place, and she didn't have the conveniences most other teens had. She was nomadic, analogous to a gypsy perhaps, and lived her life freely. Some creeps might appear every now and then, but she usually held her own. Against mortals, anyway.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Depending on what route she took, Emirayha may have seen some random ice patches and snow piles on her way home. Which was strange, as it was the middle of May and normally very warm during this time of the year.
Kleis passed by one of the little piles of snow, and even slipped a bit on some ice the other Mages left behind. What were they doing, outside of their territory?
