Re: Mages of the Tricore
Emirayha was silent, imagining the adventures Kleis was having out on patrol in the forest. She stared at Reyna and the diadem with a blank look on her face before slouching back into her seat. Could there still be some form of life present in the forest, aloof and elusive to the caustic sting of acid rain showers?

Kleis shut the door behind her and kicked off her shoes. She looked over at Emirayha. "After we drop Reyna at the hospital, we're heading over to Von's place. You can rest now, I'll watch over her."
Re: Mages of the Tricore
Kleis came in suddenly, to her astonishment. "Ok then." Emirayha replied.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Morning came and Reyna's diadem was still a dark purple color. Kleis called the hospital and gave them special instructions. She searched through Satchel's innards and pulled out a body bag. She filled it with cold water and ice, placed Reyna inside, and tightly sealed it. She should be fine, Kleis thought.
They took a clandestine route through the city's alleyways, since it would be a strange sight to see two girls lugging a filled body bag around. They went around the back of the hospital to meet Evelyn, one of the Ice Mages.
"Take good care of her," Kleis said, handing Evelyn the body bag.
"Don't worry, I will," Evelyn replied. "It's nice seeing you out of your hidy-hole for once."
Kleis waved her hand in dismissal. "Whatever. We're off to see Von now. See ya later."

They stuffed Kleis into a body bag filled with ice and furtively found a cryptic way to the hospital. As much as she had done it before, walking such an esoteric route with an unconcious body made Emirayha feel uneasy and mischievous, as if she was committing a crime. She sort of enjoyed the feeling and went along with it, however.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
They left the hospital and headed to the old abandoned factory near the forest. Kleis kicked the door down and glanced around the first floor before climbing the metal steps to the second.
The second floor was nothing like the first: It had been converted into an art studio. Kleis hit a switch near the stairwell and the blinding lights came on, instantly brightening up the room. It was still rather empty, though: only a bed surrounded by many canvases and buckets of paint decorated the room.
"He must be out," Kleis said, pulling out her cellphone and calling Von. "Hey, where are you? I'm at the factory now, I have a very important matter to discuss."

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Next Kleis and Emirayha went to see Von indeed. Although he lived at an abandoned factory, Emirayha loved how he had turned something old and worthless to many into, well, art. It was fascinating, but he was out. Emirayha looked around as Kleis called Von, mettling and observing the different pieces of work.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
It wasn't long until Von came back. He climbed to the top of the stairs, looked at Kleis, and asked, "What was it you wanted to talk about?"
He waved his hand and some of the canvases laying on the floor folded into sturdy but soft couches. Kleis took a seat and began to search through Satchel.
Eventually she pulled out an old wooden flute. It had many cracks and breaks, and some sort of fungus was growing near the mouthpiece. Once Von saw the flute, he tensed up and the paint in the paint cans began to rumble.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Von soon returned. He began turning the canvases to furnitutre with the wave of a hand. He did it with no emotion, but Emirayha was astonished. 'I guess you shouldn't expect less form Von,' she thought. He looked shocked when Kleis pulled out a mysterious flute, however. This piqued Emirayha's interest and she was determined to find out why. She listened silently.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"I would like to have you fix this," Kleis said, handing the flute to Von.
He too a deep breath before replying. The paint cans stopped rattling. "...Why did you steal from the tree?"
"It's the only way to restore the forest," Kleis replied nonchalantly. "I'm sure Lucien wouldn't-"
Von blanked out. The paint shot up from the cans and grabbed Kleis, constricting her. It wrapped around her neck and continued to choke her until she fainted. Von, realizing what he had done, forced the paint back into the cans and checked on Kleis. He glanced over at Emirayha. "...Sorry, I lost control there. When she wakes up, tell her that I'll be working on fixing it."

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Kleis wanted Von to fix the flute but Von was upset that she had stolen from a tree, apparently. When Emirayha saw Von lose control and choke Kleis until she fainted, she knew that she'd have to watch out for him.... But he just said that he'd work on fixing it, and Emirayha nodded away, ignoring the entire situation for a moment.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
The couch transformed into a desk and Von placed the flute down on it. "It'll take me about a week or two for me to fix this, so you two will have to take over the area around here till then. There's going to be more dangers in the forest as well, since most of the barriers Kleis put up most likely decayed from the storm...I'd be careful if I were you."
Re: Mages of the Tricore
'Great,' Emirayha thought as Von told her of the extra dangers popping up in the forest that she and Kleis would have to deal with. 'More battling.... But what difference did it make anyway? One problem always followed another. That's life.' Emirayha replied reluctantly, "Ok."

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Von slid a canvas underneath Kleis and it transformed into a bed. "She won't be out for long," he said. He then went to his desk to work on the flute.
Re: Mages of the Tricore
Von put Kleis on a bed he made from a spare canvas, and he got back to work. In the meantime, Emirayha continued to look around, careful not to touch anything or focus too hard on whatever she saw so she wouldn't be too obvious. She was becoming more curious about Von. Then, she saw something rather odd. She couldn't help but make a confused face at it.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Von didn't even divert his eyes from the flute. "I don't mind if you look around. Just don't make weird faces like that."
Emirayha may have noticed a certain girl appearing in most of Von's paintings, a girl who had an eerie resemblance to a certain copper-haired Dragonfly Mage. Images of other Mages like Reyna and the Ice Mages were present, but Kleis was the most prominent figure in them.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Okay." Emirayha said, "But you do have some VERY weird things in here. It'd be a wonder if you don't make perplexed faces at yourself when you realize what you've placed around you."
Continuing to browse, Emirayha looked over at Kleis lying on the canvas bed, and began wondering what history she and Von had together. She became uncertain if she should leave Kleis here alone with Von, not knowing when she'd regain consciousness. She decided to stay longer.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Why should I be weirded out by it? That is my imagination on those canvases." Von began to clean the old flute of all the moss and fungus. Once it was all clear he brought it up to his lips and gently blew, producing a light, airy note. Emirayha may have felt her muscles suddenly relaxed when the note was heard. Kleis began to stir a bit in the bed.
Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Well, your imagination seems to be quite......" Emirayha was going to make another somewhat trenchant remark, but she was assuaged when she heard the melody of the newly cleaned flute. The gentle melody made her feel lighthearted and free. "What a lovely melody....... Where exactly....... where did that flute come from? What is it?" Emirayha was so lost in the calmness of the moment she could hardly speak. She had to know what sort of device could possibly incite such a catharsis.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"It's called the Clarion. It belonged to one of our old friends, Lucien, a long time ago." He studied the Clarion for any cracks and weak parts. He noted that most of the paint and varnish had peeled off as well. "He was a very powerful Mage," he said, pointing to one of the canvases. There was a picture of a young man with long brown hair in a ponytail, sitting on a rock in front of a large glowing tree. By his mouth was the green Clarion, which had a strange white orb coming out of it and going towards the tree. "He had a lot of abilities, but he's known for his rejuvenation ability."
Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Very interesting...." Emirayha said, glancing at the painting. Lucien had an odd aura about him; to Emirayha it almost seemed familiar..... Although a bit hesitant at first, she built up the nerve to ask, "What happened to him?"

Re: Mages of the Tricore
"He died about a year ago, just before his eighteenth birthday," Von said stoically. "We buried him and the Clarion under the Willow, like all the other Mages."
Re: Mages of the Tricore
"Oh." Emirayha said. She then became enshrouded in a massive fog of overwhelming thoughts. It now made more sense why Von choked Kleis. 'Why would a Mage so powerful die so young? Was he sick? Was he in a colossal battle? Does this mean Kleis is a grave robber, or can the flute be used to bring him or some of his power back in some way? I have a felling I'll eventually find out. Is that why the willow stood out to me so much? I've aways loved willows, but this one was different. Magical even. It all makes sense. I wonder if we can use the esse of the deceased Mages to fight off roaming demons and monsters? What will become of this forest next?" Emirayha didn't realize how she stared into space as she traversed her train of thought. She was so busy in her brain that she seemed almost completely immobile on the outside. Although she was alive and well, she looked as if she was at absolute zero, as if she was unconscious or her heart had stopped beating.

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Von continued to work in silence, ignoring how Emirayha blanked out. Several minutes past and Kleis shot up out of the bed abruptly. "W-what time is it?" she asked frantically, looking around in alarm. Some of the canvases suddenly became blank.
"It's almost noon. You weren't out for very long." Von replied stoically.
Kleis sighed and calmed down. "Thank god..."

Re: Mages of the Tricore
Emirayha snapped out of it as Kleis shot up from the bed in a panic. She wondered if Kleis remembered anything. Kleis was a heavy sleeper as proven earlier, and she stayed unconcious for a while too.
Something made Emirayha glad she didn't leave Kleis alone. Maybe it was that she figured Kleis would need some extra reassuring of exactly how long she was out, or maybe she figured it could damage Kleis and Von's relationship if Kleis woke up from being unconscious alone with Von in his home not sure of what had happened.
'Either way, regardless of true intentions nobody with that many pictures of someone should be left completely alone with her while she's unconscious until his personality is revealed, especially if he's the one who put her in that state.' Emirayha agreed with herself.
Even if Von was a good person, Emirayha didn't feel comfortable not even knowing what happened to Kleis herself and wanted to be Kleis's eyes for her while she was out. She had learned to be distrustful of people, and it was why she had survived this long.
