Oh crap. It's following me! Jane thought as she continued running. That sprite had brought her nothing but trouble. She was terrified, she was alone, she had no way of contacting Joey or anyone from home, and she wanted out. She kept running until she tripped on a root and fell flat on her stomach. She heard a crack in her ankle, and pain shot up her leg. "No, no..." she sad quietly, her voice shaking.

Courtyard Droll was walking beside one of the towers of the two Derse children, trying out his cool new army helmet, when he felt something hit it.

He looked down to see a now broken purple pencil.

CD looked up to see the female Dersite child looking down at him. He proceeded to wave to the girl, before turning to the other tower, to see if the boy was awake, forgetting that he should probably report this to the Draconian Dignitary, or Jack Noir.

His mind then went back to his nice hat- I mean- helmet.

A new voice. A familiar voice. A trap? "Leave me alone!" She screamed. "I don't want to be part of your plans!" Jane felt the pain in her ankle worsen as she tried to stand up, bracing herself on a tree. Her knees gave out beneath her, and she collapsed again. She tried crawling now.

It was three Shale Imps, dressed up in the outfits Jane's parents had been wearing in the photo, and one of them had an army helmet.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

They all exploded into Grist and Shale, from the three shots Joey had fires off from the pair of golden guns he was holding. He then turned to Jane. "We're getting you back to the house, you should be healed by then."

"No, the Medium does something to us, the more enemies we kill, the stronger we get, and just resting for a bit will heal up non-fatal wounds." Joey explained, as the sprite collected the Grist and Shale. "That was an Imp, the weakest kind of enemy you can encounter."
