To conclude the second segment of the Tutorial, we will learn about Trigger Commands. These are an interesting type of Commands which usually involve a certain interaction with a unit in the Battlefield. The results caused by this interaction are often easily inferred, but there are cases in which the result is purely based on player deduction, or luck. Examples would be using the Trigger Command: Open the Chest! on a Treasure Chest to acquire the supposed item inside, or using Trigger Command: Open the Door! to gain entrance through a new area via a special Cell. The possibilities are endless. Using a Trigger Command also counts as an Act Command. Use the Portal's Trigger Command to proceed to the third and last segment of the tutorial, which will focus on actual combat with an enemy party.

The ghostly halls of the realm beyond the portal was no strange sight to the eyes of young Lissa. She had dealt with the paranormal in the past, so this was nothing new to her. Before she could question her companions to see why they had entered the portal themselves, her eyes were transfixed upon the three figures standing exactly opposite her and the two whom she had accompanied to this strange realm. Hmmm... More spirits to add to my collection? Lovely. Lissa thought to herself, a haunting smile passing her lips. She readied her weapon, and beckoned her allies to do the same.
"Well then? Are you ready for the show?" Her voice echoed throughout the halls, bouncing off of the fog that covered their feet and the giant pillars that loomed over the battlefield. This would certainly be an excellent battle...

As her allies threw themselves into the heat of the battle instantaneously, Lissa chuckled from her position beside the pillar, and watched nonchalantly. The girl seemed to have excellent control over her magical abilities - channelling her Mana through the banjo which she held in her hands... though her playing itself left a bit to be desired. The boy, on the other hand, struck quick and fast with his blade, attacking the ghost on the left. These two don't seem like the type to have any chitchat during the battle... Unfortunate, but c'est la vie. Lissa thought idly to herself, as she took her turn to step forward, plunging into the thrill of the battle herself.
Stopping in front of the Paladin Ghost, she called forth her own reserve of spirits. The ethereal energy appeared on her pitchfork, forming a long blade composed entirely of spiritual residue. It shimmered like water, though its colour did not resemble the seas whatsoever. Lissa let out a giggle infused with that of a madwoman, and slashed the ghostly blade down upon the spirit, slicing with ease through its own spiritual form...
"Now what did you say your names were?" She yelled out, having successfully completed her attack.

There are a variety of Status Conditions. Status Conditions always have a "Chance" of being inflicted to an enemy--this Chance is not a set value but a varying one which changes from enemy to enemy. Poisoning a simple Level 1 Knight would be definitely easier than Poisoning a Level 5 Venus Walker. Status Conditions can be either Negative, or Positive. Wound inflicts 10% Max HP Damage per Turn to the afflicted, and it can be easily stacked up to three times. It is a rather common infliction which adds a cheap +2 MP to the Skill causing it; it's only drawback is that any kind of HP Recovery done to the afflicted will immediately dispel this Status. Meanwhile, Covering and Covered is a more complex one. The Covered unit, when targeted, will have all the attacks directed to the nearby Covering unit instead, as long as this unit is within range. The range is equal to the Movement Stat of the Covering character. Next up, is Atmosphere.

Alice winced as the Knight Ghost attacked her. That hurt pretty bad. While she was quite skilled at using her magic, she wasn't accustomed to using it in an actual serious battle. "I agree with the sword guy," she grunted, swinging her banjo at the Knight Ghost.

Atmosphere. It is a named set of effects and/or conditions which normally globally affects all other units in the Battlefield Grid. In this case, Mana Streams is a beneficial kind of Atmosphere that grants a permanent regeneration of every unit's MP. But if the room were to be filled with a poisonous mist, it would also negatively impact on every other unit as well. Atmosphere effects are varied--they can be purely situational to the battle they affect, but they can also be associated with the current In-Character location. Regarding this battle, Mana Streams will be active for several turns before it is changed to something else.

Lissa was growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of any sort of effect that their weapons had on their opponents. It seemed that every move that their team made was easily waved off by the spirits; they were entirely unfazed, and could easily deliver punishing damage back to them. Glancing at her allies, they seemed to be in a similar predicament, though she could not really tell, having not interacted with them all too much. This could end catastrophically... and at the hands of mere ghosts! She mentally scoffed at this, being a spiritualist herself.
"Well, it seems we are going to need to strategize a little better..." She muttered under her breath, as she materialized her blade of spirit matter once more, hacking away at the ghost of the knight in front of her. This was certainly going to be a long fight...
