"Yeah, yeah," Adeline said before turning to Christina. "Follow me." She began to walk to the church.

[Rose Hathaway]

Christina hesitated. She had a bad feeling about following the girl. "Why are we going to the church?" she asked.

[Book the Hero]

"They're gonna give you a place to stay." Joey explained.

"Well? Are you coming or not?" Adeline asked impatiently.

[Rose Hathaway]

That bad feeling still wouldn't go away. "I'd rather go alone." she said.

Nathan gnashed his teeth in irritation before speeding forward. He over took Kira and came to a stop in a clearing about ten feet in front of her. His hands were held up in an attempt to show her he didn't mean harm.

Kira screeched to a stop, backing up a few steps. "Y-Y-You...h-h-hurt L-Luke... Y-You s-s-said..." she mumbled, shuddering, something reminiscent of a cornered animal surfacing in her eyes.

"I've changed." The black haired teen defended. He looked at the girl imploringly and sighed. "And Luke's one of the reasons why I'm here, but we'll get to that later."

"Please, Kira."

Kira watched Nathan for a few minutes, before finally giving in. "Wh-What...Wh-what d-d-do y-you w-w-want...?"

"I... don't know." Nathan answered his head sagging slightly. Six years of feeling lonely and taking lead of an elite force of fighters had given him time to think. For the first year fighting had gotten him through everything, but as he'd grown up he'd finally had to live with his mistakes and face them.

"I want to make up for the mistakes I made as a child." He glanced back up at her. "And... I need your help to find Luke."

Kira watched Nathan curiously, taking a step forward. "I...I h-haven't s-s-seen L-Luke in a-a while e-either..." she stated cautiously.

Nathan didn't move and remained stock still. "Neither has anyone." He frowned slightly. "I need to find him... and with some of the things I've seen lately I want to make sure you're safe."

Kira bit her lip, not really sure why the one who told her he'd kill her was worried about her. It didn't make sense. "Wh-What d-d-do I...? H-How c-c-could I-I help f-find L-Luke...wh-when I d-don't know wh-wh-where he i-is...?"

"Because you're his team mate as well, and if anyone can be the ones who find him. It'll be us." Nathan said glancing up at her. "Come with me and we'll try and find him."

Kira glanced around at the forest, unsure of how much she wanted to go. Sure, she wanted to see Luke again, but she hadn't left the forest in years. "Th-The f-f-forest..." she mumbled aloud, tugging at her jacket.

"You'll be safe." Nathan said. He emphasized with his hand towards the sky. "And we can find Luke and I can sort out all the mistakes I've made."

It wasn't really a matter of safety, it was a matter of the outside world being a horrible place. She knew Nathan was strong, and she'd be find unless he tried to kill her, but... Kira didn't voice her concerns, simply nodding. She wanted to see Luke, too.

Nathan nodded and his hand flashed with a brief light. Then within seconds a massive orb split into life above him and a massive Hawk with brilliant red eyes appeared from nowhere. Poison dripped from its talons and with a brief cry it let out a burst of flames.

Then with a swoop it touched down next to Nathan and crouched. It easily dwarfed the teen and filled up most of the huge clearing. Nathan hopped up and stood near the crest of its neck.

He formed a staircase of ice that would lead Kira to join him and turned to her. "You ready?"

Kira had jumped back when the hawk swooped down, having been alarmed by the sudden appearance of the huge bird. Hearing Nathan, she nodded after a moment, watching the hawk carefully as she walked up the staircase.

"It's perfectly tame." Nathan said calmly, although the he did understand that the beasts sheer size could be quite alarming. "We'll go the Erika and Heidi's village first and see if they've heard anything."

Kira nodded, getting on the hawk behind Nathan. Why'd it have to be a bird? If Nathan was tricking her, he could just kill her in the air where her Flow would be next to useless.

With a sharp whistle. Nathan ordered the bird to take flight. Turning to the girl, behind him he smiled. "Sit down and hold on tight." Was his suggestion before the bird shot up.

Kira quickly did as she was told, growing pale at the sight of the ground fading away. She ducked her head into her knees, feeling a little sick.

With a wave of his hand, Nathan created a translucent and flexible shape of darkness that fell onto Kira and held her in place but was weak enough for her to break out if she wanted to, but it offered her some form of comfort.

Kira gulped, noticing the darkness bubble thing around her. It did get her to stop worrying about the height, but instead her claustrophobia started kicking in, along with the thought that Nathan really was turning against her.
