Lesson 5: In Character
When all of the sheets are filled out, the GM elects to put up an in character thread. This is where your character will interact with the other characters. The GM is like a god in this world. If he wants it to rain, it rains. If he wants your character to die, your character will die. You can ask questions about it, but chances are, the why spoils a plot point.
For example, in the roleplay the Haunted House on the Hill, I warned everyone to write up death scenes for their characters. It was an important plot point, and I told them when to use it. They didn't necessarily question it since it was something like a dream sequence, and they would still be alive afeter it was used, but still. Respect the GM's plot. Don't go gallivanting off somewhere and screwing something up unless it's a character driven RP, where the characters choose their paths.
Typical in character posts are written in third person. There are other ways of doing it, but that's the most common form. Don't be the random hipster who decides to write it in first while everyone else writes in third. That ruins the beauty of the roleplay, and people may skip reading your posts because they find your posts annoying to read. That's not good. Best to follow the GM's lead as far as POV is concerned.
