"I should see Sage, too, I guess...I wonder if Melaney knows she's back..." Kira mused. Her bangs were getting a bit long, too, maybe she'd ask Sage to help cut them.

"I'm sure she'll have been waiting long enough that she jumped when she felt their Flows," Luke guessed.

"I guess you're right," Kira responded, vines growing near Jayden to let him know that the forest had been rehydrated.

Melaney poked her head in Kira's window. "Hi..."

Kira jumped, surprised by Melaney's sudden appearance. "Oh, h-hi... H-Here, come in, y-you're getting all wet..." she fussed, offering Melaney help through the window.

Melaney shook her head, a very thin layer of shadows blanketing herself and causing the rain to simply run off her. "I-i'm fine, nothing new," she mumbled, "N-nathan's back..."

"Yeah, are you going to see Sage?" Kira asked.

"N-no..." Melaney mumbled, hiding the lower half over her face beneath the other side of the window frame timidly.

Kira blinked, having not been expecting that answer. "I'm sure she missed you..."

"I-i'll visit her later," Melaney mumbled, "C-can I have a dry blanket?"

Kira nodded, handing Melaney her blanket. "Here... Do you need anything else?"

Melaney shook her head. "If Nathan comes looking for me, tell him not to..."

Kira frowned slightly, a worried look crossing her face. "Alright..."

"Th-thank you," Melaney mumbled, protecting her blanket with a layer of solid shadows before hopping down from the tree.

Sage awoke a little bit later, yawning and stretching as she loked around. Zack must have brought me here...or Nate... She got out of bed, and got dressed, then searched the house...

And started to panic.

...Melaney wasn't around. What if she ran off when she left!?

"Something wrong with her?" Luke asked concernedly.

"..." Eric looked pained, before turning to Joey. "This could our only chance... and I don't think she'd want to be a vegetable for the rest of her life."

"I know..." Joey said with a sigh.

Eric turned back to Nathan. "We'll agree to those terms."

Kira bit her lip, frowning. "She was p-pretty upset th-that Sage had l-left...m-maybe she's j-just mad a-at her...? I'll talk t-to Sage once the rain lets u-up..." she sighed.

"Okay," Luke nodded, confident in Kira's ability to sort it out.

Kira sighed again, sitting down on her bed. "...I think I'm going to start working on the house soon, so we have it by winter."

"I know there's not a lot I can do, but if you need help I'm here," Luke offered, not really sure what he could do.

"I just want to make sure you like it, too. Maybe we should put it closer to the river, so we don't have to go so far for water?" Kira mused.

Soon enough, the water stoppped for the forest.
