Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
As you march forward down the forest path, searching for a new friend, you all hear the clamor of battle up the road, the sound of wolves, the clashing of steel. It is still faint but you hear it on the horizon, dead ahead.
What do you do?
Epsil

Epsil
- Spoiler:
As you dig yourself out of the net you have one attack you can make before the wolves and goblins go again.

Anastasia draws her dagger and runs toward the sounds.

Raven dashes forward alongside her, towards the noise.

Slash at a goblin, then run. I believe my kukri was still drawn.
Wow. I got reeeeaaaally lucky. Nat 20, then rolled an 18. I deal 4 damage

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
(Is that with the ((dice +Str Mod) x2 ?) Just making sure )
You manage to carve into the face of the goblin, killing it as it starts to rush behind you, and you manage to begin sprinting again, and will be able to last for 10 rounds (1 minute before you grow fatigued). It collapses on the ground with 2 goblins left.
The Wolves begin to continue to hug to the back, seemingly waiting for something. While the goblins charge forward and try to attack you again (you get an Attack of Opprotunity against one of them).
And it's mad frenzy has its dagger slide through the air your form once occupied, while the second seems to stab your achiles tendon for 3 points of Non lethal damage.
(You take one point of damage and you're knocked out after that.)
(I also take it Anastasia, John, Vorpalsheen, and Ritz are continuing their sprint?)

Do I need to roll anything for AoO?

Standard Attack Roll, it's the free one for one of the Goblins running into your Melee range, take your pick of the two, and try to stab one,

I'll pick the one I slashed at earlier.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
It dodges your kukri's blade as it tries to bludgeon you in the back of the head with it's fist. It stumbles over itself as it does so, falling on it's face, as all of you race on ahead, leaving it behind.
The second goblin tries a similar tactic, and strikes at thin air as you deftly avoid it's lazy punches.
Finally, it seems as if the Wolves take a pressing charge and seem to respond to several motions from the goblins.
It's claws rake down your back, and it pins you to the ground as you feel your vision black out, the blood you have spilled everywhere, and the adrenaline finally fading.
You however don't feel dead. In your dark as pitch existence, you can feel pain in the darkness. No new pain as you can tell, but the same pain at the moment of your collapse.
You awake inside a Damp, stone hole, in an alien and invisible environment. It is so dark you are not sure whether you are in the catatonic state you were before. What do you do?
Raven, Anastasia, Ritz, Vorpalsheen: You suddenly hear the howl of wolves grow loud, just half a mile out at a guess, and you hear the clanging tussle from earlier has seemingly closed and finished.

Ritz picks up her pace knowing that there is obviously something very wrong going on here. It seems that the others picked up on it as well. Erimis easily matches Ritz's stride. The fool should never have went off on his own. What an imbecile, she thinks as she continues to sprint.

I want to look around the cave while maintaining a facade of unconsciousness.

Anastasia, John, Vorpalsheen, and Ritz: You sprint for a good minute and march like madmen through the forest, for a good 10 minutes. Roll Spot.
Epsil: inside the area you find more darkness, and your ears detect the faint squeak of rats scurrying on the floor and the faint dripping of the dank dungeon ceiling onto your neck, giving your skin a good reason to crawl. Especially with the faint breathing you hear echo on the walls.

Is Epsil tied up?
If he is, I want him to try and escape his bonds. I'll roll escape artist.
EA: 18
If not, I want him to start feeling along the walls to try and find the spot that the breathing is coming from.
Move Silently: 22
Hide:19
Also, does he still have his weapons?

The Rest of the Group:
You find that there are several places in this area with droplets and small pools of blood in the area.
Epsil: As you wiggle your hands and legs, getting some feeling back in them, you find that you are free to walk about and are untied. Sadly, your bow and Kukri's are not on you. As you feel around, you find that whatever is making the noise is in the back corner of the room, but you cannot tell what it looks like. As you get closer the breath sounds weak and quiet.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
"There's blood here." Anastasia said, bending down at one of the pools. She dips her hand in it and smells it to identify it.
(No idea what to call this one, so I'm calling it Appraise. )

Reach out towards the noise, as well as trying to identify it.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
Ritz looks at Anastasia questioningly. "You look like you could use some help with that," Ritz says, also crouching down to get a better look at the blood, carefully wafting the smell towards her nose while scrutinizing its consistency and color. "Erimis, see if you can't pick up a scent from it." Erimis gets closer to the pool and begins to smell...
(Ritz gets a 23 in Knowledge Nature. Erimis gets a 17 in Survival.)

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
(Hahaha . I believe you could use Heal (Wis) (Medical knowledge kind of thing), or try and use Survival, etc. to tell how old it is. Regardless, as you investigate it, it feels still warm beneath your fingers. Fresh.
Note: Appraise is good for Antiques, and Artifacts.)
Ritz: On investigation of the blood, it seem that Emris's eyes light up a little as she sniffs it, from the largest pool, and you know she has the scent, as she nearly bursts from your arm to go track it.
It seems to be elf blood, or some sort of humanoid, you're certain of it. Otherwise, you have some trouble distinguishing it. Either way, your eyes and experience with scenes like this indicates that it's fresh, not even more than 10 minutes spilled, but it starts to coagulate all the while.
(You can roll Search to try to go Dexter on this, blood splatter analysis, but that'll take a VERY Long time, and would be made in conjunction with Heal).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Epsil: As you feel your hands going over the source of the noise you feel skin, a nose. Ears. A Face. It feels cold, but not a deathly cold.
It suddenly shakes underneath you and you hear the creature you're touching leap back and, in a presumably human voice, yell
AH!
You hear him mutter something quickly and tap the wall, where suddenly the room is filled with a bright light emanating off the wall, like a good torch.
(Roll Fort v. Dazzle; the sudden, dramatic change in lighting stings your eyes)
