Epsil
- Spoiler:
- Roll Listen and Spot.
By the way, I ran the numbers and you are about 3000ft away from the group, so a bit more than half a mile.

Epsil
- Spoiler:
As you stalk backwards among the forest, you hear the sounds of feet on forest floors, and the shapes of 2 wolves among the trees, bringing with them 3 warped snarling creatures, ears pointed and teeth jagged, dressed in a tribal form with a dagger clasped in their fidgeting hands.
Roll Initiative, and no grid for this fight, seeing as you are in the forest.
For purposes though they are surrounding you and are about 15 feet away from you, organized like a pentagon.
Wolves Initiative Count: 3
Goblins Initiative Count: 14

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
Epsil
- Spoiler:
Remember, you can always run away as a strategy, or just shoot these green bastards for all the XP. You can sprint back to camp and be their in 10 minutes, but you'll be making Fort Saves and stuff involving Endurance all the while, and will most likely be fatigued afterward.
Or Once again, shoot the bastards and get all the XP.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
The small green savage creatures begin to charge at you, and almost seem to get on all fours as they do, their faint snarling reminescent of the wolves that they stand by, and as the first one charges forward, your prepared elven reflexes carry you away from the first blow.
Then the second one charges forward from behind you, leaving you in a tough position, where it digs straight at your armor but scores only a graze in it's maddened momentum.
The last one charges forward and manages to just graze you with the serrated edge, but still leaving a cut on your skin.
You take One Damage.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You are flanked and the spaces right in front of you, behind you and to your left are taken. Making Ranged Attacks in Melee range of a guy triggers an attack of Opprotunity (meaning that shooting arrows from your given position will lead to mass stabbings from the tiny creatures). You can move 30ft per round.
You have 7/8 HP
and the Wolves have yet to respond, and it's your turn.

Draw kukri, attack Goblin 1 with it (can I do that? It's been too long.)
Roll 12 on my attack roll

Epsil
- Spoiler:
Yeah, that works. Move Action to draw a weapon, Standard Action to attack.
However, it seems your attack digs into the hide shirt that the creature wears, rather than into the Hide of the tiny creatures with daggers.
- - - - - - - - -
Next the Wolves charge forward, trying to tear into you and get the juciy bits inside.
One of them, in it's mad charge seems to fail amazingly and falls onto it's own paws due to loose dirt.
The Second one manages to get under your skin with it's teeth dealing 3 points of damage and putting 2 tooth shaped holes in your armor.
You are at 4 HP, and the Goblins go, trying to pierce you open again.
and with the Wolves trying to attack you the goblins seem to hesitate, just slowly swarming tighter around you with only 2 openings to escape from avaliable to you, as they snarl menacingly at you.
It is now your turn again.

(Are you trying to find Epsil I take it? He's the one person not at the camp site. Roll Survival to not get lost in the forest looking for him (+2 for using the Map) And then you can take a passive Spot and Listen (taking a 10, still add your listen appropriate bonuses) and try to find him)

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
(Okay, it still takes you a good 20 minutes to get there, your ears are perked, but yeah...he's 20 minutes out. You however do not know this. So I'll wait until a couple rounds in combat to see how it develops and let you know whether you find him or not)
The forest rustles by and you keep a sharp eye out for Epsil, wondering where he's been gone all this time, and as you worry for his sake, Vorpalsheen follows you into the forest, "Not wantin' a lad like you to ge' attacked by forest animals all alone."
Does anyone else want to join the search for Epsil?

Epsil flees, taking the exit closest to the direction he was walking.
What do you need me to roll?

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
Ritz realizes that Epsil had said he wasn't going to be long, but it's been a lot longer than she would expect. Not really caring about his well-being, she decides to follow Raven and Vorpalsheen anyway, not wishing to be left alone. She signals for Erimis to follow and advises Anastasia to follow as well.
(Ritz is going to simply Assist Raven in his efforts which gives him +2 to his rolls right?)

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
@ Ritz (Roll Survival, if it is above 10, yes )
@Epsil: You don't need to roll anything to flee, are you heading in the direction the tracks were going or away? They're just going to try to get in a couple attacks before you leave due to AoO's (also I'm assuming the way out is the one of least resistance, so it'll be ganking by 2 goblins.)
Also: Are you sprinting or no?
As you try to run away from the green savages and their lupine compatriots they try to rip at your legs with daggers, and they both just scrape your leather boots as you try to run as fast as you can. (I'll post the Wolves after you decide how fast you want to out pace these things.)

- Spoiler:
The multipliers equal how many times your move speed you are moving per round, the first is for miles of distance, the second (with the same multipliers, is what applies to tactical movement. And remember, you are 3000 feet out from the camp.
Walk
A walk represents unhurried but purposeful movement at 3 miles per hour for an unencumbered human.
Hustle (x2)
A hustle is a jog at about 6 miles per hour for an unencumbered human. A character moving his or her speed twice in a single round, or moving that speed in the same round that he or she performs a standard action or another move action is hustling when he or she moves.
Run (×3)
Moving three times speed is a running pace for a character in heavy armor. It represents about 7 miles per hour for a human in full plate.
Run (×4)
Moving four times speed is a running pace for a character in light, medium, or no armor. It represents about 14 miles per hour for an unencumbered human, or 10 miles per hour for a human in chainmail.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Local Movement
Characters exploring an area use local movement, measured in feet per minute.
Walk
A character can walk without a problem on the local scale.
Hustle
A character can hustle without a problem on the local scale. See Overland Movement, below, for movement measured in miles per hour.
Run
A character with a Constitution score of 9 or higher can run for a minute without a problem. Generally, a character can run for a minute or two before having to rest for a minute.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
(Do you manage to raise Raven's result to an 18, with your expert advice. Once again, it'll take awhile before he's in range)
@Epsil:
As you sprint away, you make a beeline back to camp giving a good 120 feet of distance between you and the horde.
The Wolves sprint up, leaving 20 feet as they hop forward striding towards you with a hunter's patience and equal cockiness.
The Goblins, surprisingly quick continue to chase you down, and speedily manage to arrive just out of reach of you, 10 feet shy of tearing into you with their tribal knives.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
You hesitate for a moment, unsure of where to go amongst the underbrush, cursing under your breath all the while as your mind goes blank, when suddenly, you see the Goblins finally rush towards you and see before your eyes a set or ropes that you can only describe as a net and are being dragged away deeper into the forest.
(You can roll a dex or Escape Artist check to get out. Cut the ropes with your blades, or just burst them with a surge of strength by tearing them with your bare hands.)

Re: Dungeons and Dragons, Saving the World 1 XP at a time.
As the net falls on top of your head, you suddenly feel a deepgut reaction as ropes start to pull the net closed and with you with it, just before the edges of the net come together completely, sealing you away, you tumble out, to safety. You are now within 10 feet of the goblins still and the Wolves.
Roll Fort vs. Fatigue, to see if you can keep up the running pace.
To everyone else: Roll Listen to hear the sounds of the howling and scuffling up ahead.

Epsil: You succeed on your fort save, and can keep on sprinting.
As soon as Anastasia posts listen (presuming she joined the search party), I will continue there.
