"Yeah!" Kira retorted, struggling to hold back her giggle.

"Prove it!" Luke dared her boldly.

"You're on!" Kira laughed, a tree growing about thirty yards ahead of them. She set down the blankets, tying her hair back. "Race you to that tree and back!"

Luke put his stuff down, putting his bag underneath them so they wouldn't get dirty. Then he stretched a bit, looking for Kira to give the count down.

"Ready...set...go!" Kira exclaimed, taking off running towards the tree.

Luke sprinted after her, a bit behind since he was so unused to it, though he was a fast learner.

Kira's hand slapped the tree as she skidded a bit to turn and run back to their things.

Luke touched it a second later, turning and sprinting after Kira. God damn, he didn't want to lose this one and lose bragging rights, even if he wasn't usually a bragging person. It was still fun to tease.

Kira bit her lip in concentration, sprinting towards the bags.

Luke finished a second or two behind her, so there was n doubt over who won.

"Damn," he panted, good naturedly of course.

Kira smiled at Luke. "I'm sure you'll beat me in a few days," she stated, breathing heavily as well.

"That's just the low confidence talkin'," Luke smiled back kindly. "C'mon, take your victories as they come. That's important, trust me."

Kira's cheeks seemed to get a little pinker. "W-Well, you're just g-getting used to your legs a-again..." she pointed out.

"'Course. But I'm gonna practice my running to get back in shape. Naturally that'll give me an advantage, but it doesn't mean that if you did the same, you wouldn't be the next Usain Bolt," Luke grinned. He was right though. Where he used to be muscular and stocky, he was skinny now.

Kira blushed, taking her hair out again and running a hand through it. "A-Ah, b-but..." she stammered, not quite sure how to reply to that.

"Just food for thought," Luke winked, turning to pick up his stuff, still slightly out of breath.

Kira picked up her things as well, having recovered a bit quicker than Luke due to being used to using both of her legs.

"Anywho, let's continue at more reasonable pace," Luke chuckled, having finally fully recovered.

"Alright," Kira smiled, walking beside Luke.

[Big Uri]

Luke eventually spotted the Illuminati over a hill, seeing it slightly before Kira because he was taller.

"There they are. I guess we should just set up the fire, possibly plural, and see who wants to help," Luke replied.

Kira nodded, shifting anxiously at the thought of lots of campfires. "Alright..."

"Don't worry, you trust me with fire, right?" Luke asked, an encouraging smile on his face.

"Yeah...j-just..." Kira laughed nervously, trailing off. She seemed to be doing that a lot.

[Big Uri]

"It'll be alright, I promise," Luke promised her, seeing how many Illuminati there were and wondering if maybe they should have waited. After all, the survivors might not be hungry, and if they weren't Luke would feel awful stupid. If there was one flaw he retained, it was not thinking things through. He had others of course, like his temper, but that was still something he was trying to work on.

Kira nodded, though she moved closer to Luke as they neared the Illuminati. A handful of people she could deal with, but not this many...plus, with the fires... She shook her head, trying to steel her courage as they got closer.
