Runic
The pain was horrible. Kaizo had been running for what felt like hours, from him...from that thing. It wasn't even human anymore, just a shadow of it's former self. Unknowingly, he led the thing into a residential area, making it even stronger.
Kaizo cursed under his breath. He had to get rid of it.

Re: Runic
A blond girl got off of a bright yellow school bus on a sunny afternoon. She wasn't excited for the long trek home, over a mile, but even though she had protested many times to the school about it, it was the closest she could get to home. At least it gave her some exercise and some time to think.
Re: Runic
I need to get him outta here...! Kaizo muttered something under his breath and the bandages on his right arm began to stretch and grab at the thing, trying to restrain it. However, the thing simply grabbed the bandages, tossed the boy up into the air, and slammed him back into the ground. The thing growled and then proceeded to beat the teen into a pulp.
Re: Runic
As Sam kept walking, there was the sound of a fight. Her neighborhood wasn't the greatest, and occasionally there were gunshots and fights, but no one was ever killed. She came up the hionly to see a boy getting beaten to a pulp by some.... monster. She wanted to run, but she wanted to save the boy as well. She didn't have a weapon on her, but she needed to distract that monster.
Her thoughts traced back to Mulan. The idea made her yank off her shoe and throw it straight at the thing's head. "Hey, ugly face! Over here!" she shouted, throwing her backpack on the ground and started running in the other direction.

Re: Runic
The thing hissed as it was hit by the shoe, it's blood red eyes focusing on Sam. The creature appeared to be human, a young Hispanic man, with glowing, blood red symbols crawling all over his skin like bugs. A dark aura formed around the creature, causing nearby plants to wither and die. The aura appeared to follow Sam, who may have felt as if her soul was slowly being sucked out...
Re: Runic
There was a weird sensation all over her body as she ran. A sucking sensation. She was getting tired and dizzy. It seemed to be human, but it wasn't. Sam, persistant as ever, kept running until she reached a dead end. The black aura was catching up to her, the sucking sensation had gotten worse, and the dizziness got worse. Finally, she gave up, leaning on a brick wall nearby. The thing was going to kill her. She knew it. At least she had lived a good life, a nice life, and she had saved the boy.
Finally, she fell to the ground, passed out, and everything went to black.

Re: Runic
The thing was about to finish it's little meal, until several bandages wrapped around it's neck, choking it to death. Kaizo stood a fair distance away from the thing, clutching his side, symbols similar to the ones crawling on the thing appearing on his injuries. "Sorry...Rico."
The thing screamed, it's body fading into darkness. All that was left was a blood red orb.
Kaizo sighed and leaned against the wall, watching over the girl. He decided to wait for himself to heal before helping her.

Re: Runic
It was several hours before she opened her eyes again. Sam's head hurt like hell, and she couldn't gather the strength to pull herself into a sitting position. She could move her head though, and when she did, she saw a boy watching her. The same boy who was getting beaten up by the monster. Was she dead? Was the boy dead with her? She had no idea. It was a few minutes before she found her voice, and then she said "Are you alright?"
Re: Runic
When he saw the girl open her eyes, the symbols on Kaizo's injuries quickly disappeared. He still looked pretty badly beaten, except for that bandages on his right arm, which were somehow unscathed by the fight. "...'m fine."
Re: Runic
Sam saw the injuries all over him, she wasn't convinced by his words. "Where's that thing?" she asked quietly. She still was having trouble mustering up energy to sit up, but she tried anyway. She weakly moved her arms into almost a push up position, and tried to push herself up, only to fall right back down again. That thing robbed her of energy of some form, and she wasn't sure why, but it wasn't fun.
Re: Runic
"I guess that's good." she said. Sam was running out of things to say. "What was it? Was it even real?" It felt real, the boy's injuries were real, but then again, the boy could be a figment of her imagination.
Re: Runic
"...What do you think?" Kaizo said, before pulling himself up and leaning against the wall. Watching the girl flail about, he sighed and held out his bandaged hand.
Re: Runic
"I don't know what it was. It was dark and creepy, and that's all I really know about it." Sam looked at the hand, and accepted it before pulling herself up. She was leaning heavily on the wall now, and her breathing was uneven. The thing had sucked more than just energy out of her; it had sucked out some of her life.
Re: Runic
When Sam touched the bandages, she may have felt a little bit of energy come back to her. Just a little bit.
"...Sorry," Kaizo said, a bit awkwardly.
"...Sorry," Kaizo said, a bit awkwardly.
Re: Runic
The tingling of energy going through her hand caused a little bit of normal color to return to her now pale cheeks. Her breathing stabilized a little more, and she wasn't leaning as heavily on the wall. "What are you sorry for?"
Re: Runic
"If...if I wasn't such an idiot and led him to that place..." Kaizo muttered, looking off to the side. "...It didn't touch you, did it...?"
Re: Runic
Sam looked at him, confused. "I don't know. Not that I can remember." She said. "If it did, what would happen?"
Re: Runic
"As if I would be surprised by anything after a monster almost killed me." Sam sounded sarcastic, and rolled her eyes.
