"Hey Eithne!" Paul called over to the man, raising his hand in greeting when he saw him. Just the person he'd been looking for. Not a Nathan, but certainly decent enough to hold his own in a fight.

"Howdy, Paul," Eithne nodded his head, a little surprised that Paul seem so excited to seem him. They hadn't really talked much outside of a conversation or two at meal time back during their time in the tower. "What can I do you for?"

"You up for a sparring match?" He asked, jogging over, "I recall that you were able to match Nathan back in the tournament and I haven't used my Flow in a fight for quite some time."

"I can still keep up with Nathan," Eithne corrected a little indignantly, he'd have liked to seen someone else fight him to a stand still like he did the day before. Not to mention he'd technically won their first fight. Tom could probably do it, he told himself, and outside of Heidi and Simon he didn't really know any of the others well enough to make that call.

"But, uh, yeah, spar sounds good." He nodded ruffling his hair as he suppressed another yawn. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he gestured for Paul to lead the way, let him pick the field of battle to make himself a little more comfortable.

Paul nodded, leading Eithne out to an empty feild quite a long ways away from the village. It could be quite a destructive battle, and he didn't want to harm or scare anyone.

"You were the other Raw Energy-Flow, weren't you?" Eithne asked, casually looking around the field to see where everything was out of habit. "Me and you were the only ones with them, according to Shima or something. Apparently our Flow type is one of the most destructive out there, untrained we could have turned ourselves into a walking time bomb. Lucky us, eh?"

Eithne mused, he'd only briefly gotten a hold of Paul's file and couldn't really remember the details behind his Flow, though he was sure it was him who had the other Raw Energy Flow. There destructiveness power should be equal, though he was sure Paul's Flow worked differently than his charge-and-discharge method of using his own Flow.

Fighting blind here, I should be careful about how I use my Flow until I have a better grasp of how he uses his.

"More like I can control the energy itself," Paul shrugged, "But when it comes to being a walking time bomb, I suggest don't go to what's left of Nevada."

He'd left a rather nasty sized crater in the desert floor after he had turned 18 and didn't fully grasp what he could do. Even though it was probably his greatest power, the power to release that much energy at once, it hurt like hell trying to keep it from destroying himself and was next to impossible to replicate what he had done with the bull, whose gem he had buried as far down in the earth at Tom had been able to send it.

Paul himself wasn't too worried about Eithne's Flow itself, as he recalled it was a Kinetic Energy Flow, and Kinetic energy was probably the second energy source he was comfortable with, next to heat energy.

"Huh," Eithne frowned slightly, scratching his chin in though, "that kind of puts me at a disadvantage then, don't it?" Wasn't much point in trying to do anything to fancy with his Flow is Paul could just turn it back on him or something along those lines.

Keep it simple, he told himself, mentally sizing Paul up, you're endurance is probably a lot greater than his, and you got that healing factor now, I get in close and keep him on the back foot I should out last him. Then again he never had seen Paul in a fist fight, he could be more competent than he knew. Speeds going to be the key here.

But instead of acting he just stood there, stuffing his hands into pockets and whistling jovially to himself as he waited for Paul to do something.

Paul set aside his gun, tossing it across the clearing. "Ready when you are," Paul shrugged, "Unless you're waiting for me to make the first move. Then you probably want to take a step back."

"Not really all that impressed," Eithne said, sounding rather bored as he appeared next to Paul with a buzz of static still crackling in the air and his boots smoking slightly. "Don't really get what you just did, but then again I don't think it matters, eh?" He asked, aiming a punch at Paul's gut, looking to discharge a small amount of energy on impact to see what happened.

Paul took the punch, dislocating all the energy put into it completely and sending it into the ground, feeling nothing more than the punch of a small child as the energy passed through him harmlessly. "I could probably say the same for you," Paul shot back jokingly, though he knew a punch like that could cause some serious damage if it caught him off guard.

In retaliation, Paul sent a blast of cold air, drained of energy then forced into motion by the very energy it once held.

OoC: Don't really get how sucking the kinetic energy out of the punch makes it that weak, it's still gonna be a punch from a highly trained material artists and that's going to hurt even without the kinetically enhanced power behind it but whatever.

Eithne grunted as the blast of cold air knocked him back, skidding back a few feet. "That nippy," he mused, still a little confused on how his punch did seemingly nothing, even without his kinetic powers he could throw a mean punch. Try something else, he told himself, already working out a counter of sorts.

With another buzz of static he threw himself forward, straight in front of Paul he made to catch him with an ordinary strong right hook hoping to cox him into thinking that's where the kinetic push would come from, before following up with a roundhouse to the gut whilst he was distracted.

OOC: He took the energy being transferred from the punch into him and removed it, along with whatever extra energy Eithne added.

With a shrug, Paul switched energy targets, instead creating a strong gravity field in front of himself, hoping to throw the man off balance. Paul was't the best with intricate plans, but he found the simplest ones failed the least.

OoC: Sorry, but that seems really OP if he can do it with even just an ordinary punch and easy as hell to abuse the fuck out of, I mean, in a straight up, head-to-head fight he's Eithne's perfect counter, as long as Paul knows the attack is coming he can just keep on nullifying energy all day long - is there any sort of balance to this? I mean can he do it with as much energy/force as he wants or is there some sort of limit? Also I expect some sort of Glass Cannon traits given how it is trying to injure him.

Grunting, Eithne peddled backwards, buzzing echoing in the air as put some distance between him and Paul. I though he said he controlled energy, how the fuck does he have power over gravity? He was really starting to wish he'd paid some sort of attention in psychics now.

"Even with the speed of my Kinetic step he has the ability to No Sell my attacks," he observed, eyes narrowing. Okay, he needed some sort of game plan.

OOC: Paul's weakness is, while he can completely counter certain things with his wide variety of attacks, he can't counter everything at once. He can't fight multiple people and come out on top without injury. He can't do two things at once, so in a fight with Luke he'd have to rely on his gun to fight so he wouldn't get burnt to a crisp. Eithne's best bet against Paul is to either distract him or get him to switch what he's using his Flow on and then punch him or something. Also, Eithne doesn't have to attack Paul directly, as he can probably shatter the ground beneath him to stumble him. Paul, as said character has stated before, is someone you take down by strategy, not brute force. I'll tone down his reaction timing a bit, though, as I have thought about that as well.

Another thing, though, is that Paul despises using his flow for fighting. He has seen Flow as an excuse for madmen to gain power and many innocent people to die. He's only training with it here as he knows it may be necessary to use it in the upcoming battle. He has a certain pride in the fact that he won't use his Flow to take down enemies, but rather his gun or strategy. If you noticed, he hasn't attacked with his Flow once, the air blast hardly counting as it was more of a measure to put some distance between himself and Eithne, Paul knowing it was a bad idea to stay near someone with more skill in hand to hand combat. Of course, Eithne himself should probably learn some form of long range combat, not that it generally matters too much as of late.

Paul crossed his arms. "Use your head, not your arms," he told him, "I'm not gonna let you just hit me like a moron, that's how people die."

Paul was getting fed up with people not even thinking about how to get around a problem. He'd even shown Eithne how he could change the gravity by feeding or removing the energy given off by the earth in that particular spot. He had no clue how people expected to win this battle, even with Nathan's 'Master Plan', if they weren't willing to use their head.

OoC: Eithne can fight from range, though Paul would just be able to No Sell it, hence his use of close-combat. But thanks for clearing that up a little better.

"Yeah, and I need to learn how the hell to get around this kind of shit. I'm just testing you to see what you can do, is all." There was some truth to that, he just wanted to see what worked and what didn't. "Might as well find out what you can counter now when it could get me killed later."

Bending down, he traced the surface of the ground with his fingers, keeping a close eye on Paul as he did so. Odds are he can't nullify several things at once, I got to try and use that to create an opening for myself. He could try something from ranged, through some compressed energy like he did against Nathan, but the effort and time it took would make it redundant and a waste of energy to only serve as a distraction.

I wonder... he thought, taking his eyes off Paul to wrap his knuckles against the ground. I can work with this...

Paul raised an eyebrow at Eithne and stepped back a few feet. The man was up to something, but it was difficult for Paul to figure out. Judging by what he was doing, it probably involved the ground, though he wondered if Eithne was seriously gonna try an earthquake.
