"Called, asked for time off, explained that the house got blown up...got fired." Karl mumbled the last bit. She didn't know how bad his boss was...Or at least, he didn't remember telling her. Oh the joys of trying to work as a cripple...

Andrea's eyes widened, in shock. "They... they fired you just like that?"

Feelings of anger boiled up inside her. Even with his injuries Karl was still a hard worker. Those idiots! I'm gonna...!

The woman tried to take a deep breath, before hugging Karl. "We'll get through it. Anyone would be crazy not to hire you."

"We'll have to see..." Karl said with a sigh, closing his eyes and wrapping his arms around her again. "...Where did Max go?" he asked, opening his eyes again and glancing around.

Andrea's eyes opened, and then there was a loud crash that came from the kitchen.

"Max?!" The woman called out, heading there as fast as she could.

Karl went as fast as he could. Which was still slower than Andrea, since she didn't limp.

Andrea ran into the kitchen to find Max sitting on the floar with a bunch of pots and pans around him, one perched on top of his head.

"Hi." The little boy waved.

The woman sighed in relief. Oh thank God...

"I think he has a knack for cooking..." Karl chuckled quietly when he actually saw the mess. "Well...least nothing serious happened..."

Caesar just kept completely silent, letting the two argue. What they were talking about had nothing to do with him, so he just waited for them to finish their argument.

"Minds? I dunno if I'd count Chris on the best minds thing," Lauren replied, though she realised Elena might not like what she had said. Her pride did slightly swell at the compliment her boss had paid her, and she regretted insulting Elena's old friend. "He was a fine hitman considering no one ever trained him, but he was easily manipulated and fooled, wasn't he?"

Andrea let out a laugh at that as well as Max started to bang on pots with a ladle he found. "Or perhaps a musician."

On the inside she was also thankful nothing bad had happened. Now that sh had a child it felt like another part of her was out there waundering and posibly getting into trouble. And sooner or later Max would get older and be to far from her reach to catch... that's what scared her the most.

"Oh god, if he becomes a musician...I'll have a headache..." Karl commented and then chuckled. Walking over to pat Max on the head. "Havign fun there?"

Th pot made a small clank noise when Karl's hand connected with it. Maxie grinned and gave a fast nod.

Karl snapped with his left hand. "We still have Sir Wyvern somewhere, right?" he asked, remembering that stuffed dragon all too well.

Andrea's eyes widened. "Oh yeah! We put him with some of our old toys in storage. That means Maxie still has toys to play with."

"'Sir Wyvern?'" Maxie blinked.

"Yeah. Sir Wyvern was one of my old toys." Karl said and smiled. "Oh! We should get them someday." he added on.

Andrea nodded. "I could probably call the storage facility and have them delivered. But maybe in a few days..."

"Yeah...let everything get settled down for a bit," Karl agreed. Nodding his head.

"Until then, I suppose Max will make do." Andrea replied with a small laugh as Max continued to bang on the pots and pans.

"With his imagination, it shouldn't be too hard," Karl chuckled, watching Max 'play' the drums. "Hope that Carlotta is ok...She's been gone for quite a while for the amount I gave her." He hadn't done too big of a list.

"Huh. What did you put on the list to give her? I don't think she's used to going out to the grocery store..." Andrea pondered. And from what I've seen of the food most of it's just heat it up or sweets... The woman sweat dropped.

Maybe sendign her out by herself was a bad idea...

"Nothing that major, should really take five to ten minutes to get everything..." The man answered with a sigh. "I forgot...I should have gone with her..." At the very least...nothing...

Andrea sighed, before a smile spread across her face. "Well she said she was going to the store in De Luca territory. If anyone decided to try some funny business there'd be trained assassins walking around to stop it."

"I guess that makes me feel a little better," Karl said with a nervious chuckle. That's right, trained assassins... Heh...I have a bad feeling again. He went back to watching Max play with the pots and pans.

Andrea noticed to look on Karl's face. "B-but that doesn't mean that it's dangerous for children (I hope). Remember when we all used to run around here when we were little kids?"

"True...true..." Karl then sighed, back then it was so much simpler. Well, for kids. This was supposed to be a time of truce and what not.... "I hope so..."
