Requiem of Depravity - Page 5 Empty Re: Requiem of Depravity

The girl gave a slight bow in the Bavarhm manner, before smiling back at the woman. She reminded her a little bit of the priest (except female and younger with more hair) back at the Hermitage. This thought made her a little sad but... she had a job to do.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Evangeline. My name is Isha, some refer to my position as the Prophet of the Dunes. And I will do my best on our endeavor."

Celio nodded and bowed to the girl "Greetings Isha, it's a pleasure to meet you." The young woman said to the prophetess. "I am Celio, a hunter fom a small village in Thyella."

"Ah, so that's why you froze those men back in the alleyway," Isha said, understanding now that she knew the woman was from Thyella. "Pleasure to meet you as well."

"Thank you, Isha," he said quietly. "At any rate, splitting up is not a good idea. I assume Cielo will be staying here. Two should stay here, and one should come with me." He looked at everyone, including the Myrskite girl that had recently joined them, and something clicked. He'd seen those eyes before. He gasped, raising one hand. "You..." he whispered. He'd killed her father, but not in battle.

After Kaza escaped from the cave the Old God sealed them in, he'd nearly tripped on something. He looked down, the hand of a brutally maimed soldier clutching his pants. "Help..." he'd pleaded. One arm was missing, as was everything from the waist down. His organs were scattered over the ground, and part of his face was peeled off. Kaza knelt next to him, wishing him peace, and stabbing him through the heart. Nothing would have been able to save him, and he hoped his body wasn't found. His family didn't deserve to see it. He quickly lit the corpse on fire, and said several prayers to the divine as he did so, hoping that his family would be at peace. He swore to himself that he would make the Old Gods suffer.

Kaza quickly straightened up, his face returning to it's usual blank expression. "I must speak to you," he stated. "Alone."

"Actually, as long as I get a bed, I don't care where I stay." Cielo said. "I'll join you at the outpost if there is, cause quite frankly, the people around here don't really seem to like me much, and I've made at least three enemies." Cielo explained, recalling the men who had been harassing her earlier.

It was at that point that that Kaza spoke out to Corentine. Deciding that it probably had nothing to do with her, she kept her mouth shut, and just watched.

"I'd be honored to accompany you," said Aeliel. "Er, but I'm not sure how much help I'll be." He stood up. As Sinclair secured his weapons, Aeliel remembered his bow which he'd placed at his feet. Retrieving it and its quiver (but not without a look of distaste), he fastened them to his waist and smoothed the wrinkles out of his traveling cloak. Then, finally satisfied with his appearance, Aeliel followed Sinclair out onto the streets.

Corentine waved at everyone. "I'm Corentine." She didn't have any fancy titles, she was just Corentine. She got really nervous as the Tivourian man froze and focused on her for a minute before saing he needed to speak to her. She looked terrified now. No matter what the others said, Tivourians and Myrskites hated each other, and she was afraid speaking to the man would be the death of her. But she nodded politely, and let the others speak about staying for the night somewhere.

Evangeline was a bit intrigued when Kaza called out the girl named Corentine, stating that he needed to talk to her. She knew that if the guy did anything wrong to her, he would be set upon by the rest of the descendants, and Kaza seemed smarter than to do something like that. Besides, at least for the moment Evangeline felt like they were all protected by the blessings of the Divines, at least until they claimed their inheritance and readied themselves for a true fight against the Old Gods. The priestess couldn't help but to feel a bit worried about all the fighting; she hadn't really had a knack for it despite her speed and craftiness. Perhaps the Mist Knight of old would give her the strength she needed when she made it to the temple with the rest. There was no way she would be left in the dark.

Isha noticed how Cielo's head was still unocovered, even though now she was wearing normal Bavarhm attire. "...Did they call you a whore?" The girl asked point blank.

OOC: I am using the term whore the way it would used in what I'm guessing this time period is. As in that being a profession.

OOC: Yep, she was also called that. Also, when was it mentioned that Cielo's head was uncovered? This is sorta like when Xeno assumed that she was still wearing her fur coat.

"Yep, and they also called me a bitch." Cielo said to the girl. "Again, as long as they have a be there, I'd rather stay at that outpost then here."

"Probably wise." Isha said with a shrug. "Many men don't value women as equals in areas of Barahm."

The girl pulled her hood up to reveal a head of long and slightly curly black hair. "Ugh, I hate wearing covering on my head. Especially of the material is itchy..."

"Yeah, I noticed that." Cielo said, removing her own covering for her head. He long black hair fell back as she remove it. "I don't know how you stand these things." She said, starring at the covering, which she was holding in her hands. "Well, at least the clothes themselves are able to keep you cool."

Kaza kept his gaze on Corentine. Her expression was one of fear. The Tivuorian understood; would it have been any other situation he'd either have refused to be near her, or knocked her out. "Come with me," he said quietly, setting a hand on her back and leading her away from everybody else. When they were a suitable distance away, he ducked into an alley and leaned against the wall. "Tell me about your father." He looked at her with a genuinely concerned expression as he spoke.

Corentine frowned as she was led away from the group, and nudged away from the hand on her back. She didn't like this. Not one bit. Last time she was in an alley, she was almost raped and killed. She wasn't thrilled about being led into another one. Not again.

She kept herself out of his armlength as he leaned against a wall. Her eyes widened as he asked the most random of questions. About her father of all people. She had barely met this man, and was almost positive she never mentioned her father at all. "He's a good man. Fun and good. He's my hero. I love him dearly. But now I'm angry with him. He left to join the military a few months ago. I haven't seen him since. And the day I left, we got a letter saying he was missing. Missing usually means dead. It's false hope. And if he does end up dead, I'll never forgive him. Ever." she said, arms folded. Her fingernails were digging into her arm and making crescent shape marks of blood on it.

Kaza nodded. "Tell me about his appearance," he said gently. "If it is who I think it is, I have bad news, but do not get the wrong idea." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "At any rate, go on, please."

"He had ashy blond hair. It was always well kept. He was tall, handsome, and he had eyes that were a bit lighter than mine. He always told me I had eyes the color of the sea during a tempest. His were more like the sea when it was sunny. Dark, dark blue...." The memory of Corentine lying in bed as he tucked her in, those dark blue eyes smiling and bright. Mom used to say it was the eyes that made her fall in love with him. They were always happy. Tears stung her eyes. She missed him so much.

Kaza nodded, his blank expression turning crestfallen. He sighed. "Aye, deep blue..." he muttered. With a sigh, he stepped forward, taking a knee in front of Corentine. "It was a week ago. There was a skirmish between Tivuor and Myrsk. An Old God rose from the ground. I took as many men as I could out, I even rescued a few Myrskites from it's clutches. I...I found your father. He was gone from the waist down. I am sorry," he said. "It sounds unlikely, but please, believe me." He rose, looking at the girl. "He was very brave..."

"You- you're lying. He's.... he's still alive... trying to get home..." Tears began streaming down her face, and she ran out of the alley away from the group. Her father really was gone. She couldn't say goodbye or anything. He was gone. What were his last words? Did he think of her at all before he died? He.... he shouldn't have gone like that.... He didn't deserve it. Her loving and kind father. Who she would never see again.

Sinclair made a beeline toward the exit, looking back to see if Aeliel was following him. The other man followed suit after preparing himself, so Sinclair took the initiative by walking into the town, taking one good look around with a sweep of his bright emerald eyes. The other five could He turned around to Aeliel.

Kaza watched the girl leave, his melancholy expression not changing. "I am sorry," he whispered, though he knew she wouldn't hear it. He strode back up to his companions, standing next to Evangeline. "She ran off. I think it is best we do not disturb her for the time being. I'm going to leave for now. Isha, can you give me directions?" He spoke without much inflection, though his eyes carried a deep sorrow. Memories of the Old God's rampage were flooding back to him.

Isha's eyes narrowed slightly at the response Kaza gave, but decided now wasn't the best time for questioning. "Follow the east exit out of the city, there is a small stable where you can rent a form of travel. Take that for a few kilometers until you reach a settlement of tent homes surrounding a small house painted white. There you will find food, drink, and rest until we arrive."

"And make sure to keep your hood down, I don't know how many people got a good look at your face but like you said, those guards are probably still after you."

"I'll go as well." Cielo spoke up. She was a little worried about her companion, who had run off, but she trusted that she would return. Right now, she just wanted to get out of this town, get out out of the sun, and get a drink.

"I'll make sure no one notices him." She said.

Requiem of Depravity - Page 5 Empty Re: Requiem of Depravity

Post by Masquerade Sat Jul 14, 2012 2:57 am

Lost in thought, Evangeline glanced beside her when she felt someone's presence only for it to turn out to be Kaza. He mentioned Corentine running off and she couldn't help but wonder what he had done to the girl. Sighing, she raised a hand and gently massaged the bridge of her nose. It never does one well to meddle. The news always comes to those who wait, she thought, reminding herself of the sort of virtues she followed. The priestess only hoped that the other girl would come back. The descendants of the Seven could be that without seven people, and unfortunately, there was no trading off to someone else. No replacements. They were chosen for a reason, and chosen they would remain.

"I feel as though I've been rather vacant. You'll have to pardon me," Evangeline spoke up. "I was just thinking that good things come to those who wait, but I'm not sure if waiting here for a chance encounter with the other two we're missing would be efficient or not," she said worriedly. "If we're to stay in one place, perhaps we should make it somewhere practical? If they are searching for us as well, then it would be practical places they'd be most likely to search first. Then again, Cielo found the clothing store to be of great use...oh, I'm afraid I'm rambling," she said with a laugh, silencing herself.
