Kira laid the girl down on her bed, closing Melaney's eyes and gently patting her head. She started humming quietly, calming herbs growing around them as well.

The herbs seemed to have no effect other than making the pain fade slightly. Melaney herself seemed to relax a bit as well.

If Melaney heard her, she didn't react. Eventually she went limp and her breathing went soft. Asleep.

Luke managed his way up the ladder with difficulty, trying not to hit his mangled leg off any of the rungs. If he did it hurt quite badly. He took inthe situation with a raised eyebrow, but recognised there was no point in panicking.

"What happened?" he asked first.

Al and Josh had already run in when they heard the girl's words.

The girl shook her head. "It was the same... a-and then some of the people started screaming, or hurting themselves. Some had guns a-and..."

"Al..." Josh said, his twin nodded, the both of them held hands together, praying that they wouldn't find Eric among the reckage.
