Kira slowly ate the toast, careful not to burn her mouth. With Luke around, she'd eaten a lot better than she had since the tournament. Between her fears of fire and people, it wasn't often that she got food other than what she grew herself.

Soon, the noodles were done, and Luke scraped half of them into a bowl for Kira, and half of them into a bowl for himself. The bowls were plastic he'd picked up from the storeroom a little while earlier.

"Hopefully this'll be tasty," Luke replied, sitting down on the picnic blanket and enjoying the day.

"'Course it'll be good, you cooked it!" Kira smiled, blowing on her noodles to cool them down.

"There is that," Luke agreed jokingly.

Kira giggled, digging into her noodles happily once she determined that they were cool enough. "They're very good!"

"Practice makes perfect, I suppose," Luke replied. He'd always been a strong believer in that, hence why he'd spent so much time in the training room back in the tournament.

Kira quickly finished her share, setting down her bowl. "Very good!"

"Hey Heidi," Paul spoke up, "What do you think my Flow is for?"

"Wadd'ya mean?" Heidi frowned, a bit confused by the question.

"Like, I can control energy," Paul explained, "What's the purpose? Some people can talk to animals, some can manipulate forces of nature, some can do all sorts of crazy stuff, but more or less it all has a purpose. I'm asking you what you think the purpose of my Flow is."

"To be a badass and blow shit up?" Heidi frowned, her pyro side sticking out a bit. "I dunno, I'm not good at these questions."

Paul smiled and took a fist sized rock from his pocket. "This is what I feel my Flow is for," he said, giving the rock a slight squeeze. In reaction, the rock itself seemed to shatter into dust and small chippings. What was left in Paul's hand was a stone toy soldier.

"S'not like you're just a killing machine," Heidi rolled her eyes, picking up the toy soldier and throwing it across the room. "You're pretty damn good at fixing people up."

Paul stopped the soldier from shattering against the wall with his flow, letting it clatter against the floor. "Still not a purpose to my Flow," Paul shrugged, "just one of the uses. Almost like a Swiss Army Knife."

"Well, then to control energy," Heidi frowned. "What would you say is my Flow's purpose?"

Paul shrugged. "If I had to guess, it would be to help save lives," the man answered, "But then again that's just my guess."

"But that's just another use. I could also use it to blow up everyone's head. See? Everyone's Flow has bad uses."

"I suppose you're right," Paul nodded, "But what about people like Simon or Kaylee?"

"Benji used Simon's Flow to try to kill him, but Simon used it once to help fix Ade..." Heidi mumbled, shaking her head to clear it. "Kaylee is can't be harmed by anything, but it also leaves her lonely. Some Flows just hurt the people that control them."

Paul raised an eyebrow. "Wait, he used Simon's Flow?" Paul asked, "No, no, that can't be right. A Telekinesis user wouldn't need to do that." Paul thought for a moment. "Did Benji even know Simon's Flow?"

"I told him about it..." Heidi muttered guiltily, looking down at the ground.

"Well it doesn't seem to make much sense, but that's teenagers for you..." Paul shrugged.

Heidi stayed quiet, any cheering up she'd done throughout the day reversed. "I'm going to sleep," she muttered after a while, standing up.

"Oh no you don't" Paul said, standing as well, "sleep never helps a person who's feeling down."
