Kira looked upwards in awe, squeezing Luke's hand. His Flow was really beautiful, especially when it came to things like these. She almost forgot sometimes that the fire would burn her.

Luke came back into attention, the creatures above doing more graceful loops around the air.

"Bit more pretty than what I had in the tournament. I can bend the heat so it doesn't burn, too," Luke told her with a shy smile.

Kira smiled widely, looking over at Luke. "That's amazing, Luke! You're brilliant!" she praised, a childish look in her eyes.

"Thanks..." Luke replied shyly, cheek going a bit red. "Took me a bit longer than I'd thought..."

"Can I touch one?" Kira asked.

[Big Uri]

"'Course you can," Luke replied with a smile, calling down a little dragon chick slowly, which waited for Kira to put out her hand or arm for it to land on. Luke was concentrating.

Kira held out her free hand, squeezing Luke's hand tightly in anticipation. She trusted him, but it was against her instincts to let fire touch her.

The baby dragon landed softly, and, true to Luke's word, it didn't burn her. It was warm, alright, but no warmer than Luke had ever been when he was sleeping. The baby dragon yawned widely, stretching its little mouth.

Kira gasped quietly, her eyes widening with a childish gleam as she hesitantly let go of Luke's hand, stroking the dragon's head.

Luke concentrated harder as she did this, and the dragon seemed to purr contentedly, though it could make no noise. Still there was no burning.

Kira smiled softly, holding out her hand so the dragon could fly away.

The dragon made another happy face, before flying away to join the almost dance-like spectacle above. Luke smiled at her reaction, gaining a bit more self-confidence.

Kira stared at her hand for a second, before looking back over at Luke. She then pulled him into a hug, breathing quietly.

[Big Uri]

Luke smiled as he was unexpectedly pulled into a hug.

"Well this is nice," he murmured. "Was it that cool?"

Kira nodded. She'd never really held an animal before, as she didn't know anyone who was allowed to keep pets in their apartment, and there hadn't really been time for fun things after the Storm. "Can't I just give you a hug?" she teased, pulling away slightly to look at Luke.

"'Course you can, but I just wanted to know if that was any good," Luke smiled, looking young and happy again. He'd done well, made himself useful.

"It was great. I told you, you're brilliant," Kira smiled widely.

[Big Uri]

"Thanks," Luke replied, embarrassed but very happy.

Kira smiled, pulling away and taking Luke's hand again. "Let's get some food and then go to the lake."

[Big Uri]

"Let's," Luke agreed, echoing Kira's earlier statement.

"What should we have?" Kira asked as they neared the treehouse.

[Big Uri]

"Maybe some toast again? Or noodles, if we still have them," Luke replied.

"We should still have some..." Kira responded, trying to remember. "Why don't you go to the ice box and find them, and I'll get the pot out of the treehouse."

[Big Uri]

"Yeah, sounds good," Luke nodded agreeably, heading off to do exactly that.

A vine took Kira up into the treehouse, where she picked up the pot, bowls, and forks that they needed, picking up her blanket as well for them to sit on. A vine took her back down to the ground, where she stood waiting for Luke.
