Paul strolled along lazily, trying to clear his thoughts. It really sucked having power...

"It's nothing." Nathan called over to Sage when he heard her voice. "Just a show a minor blast."

Sage looked down into the hole, and breathed a sigh of relief. "Are you both ok down there!?"

"Yeah, nothing broken." Nathan smiled. His hand had already completely healed and he used it to help Melaney to her feet before beginning to exit the crater.

Once they were both out, Sage looked them over.

"Dare I ask what really happened, or should I just pretend that...I didn't see anything?" she questioned.

"Melaney challenge me to a fight." Nathan said honestly. "I tried not to hurt her..."

Sage sighed once she heard this, and put a hand to her forehead. "I appreciate the honesty, Nathan... And I'm glad you didn't try to hurt her. And I'm glad you both are unharmed..."

"But...did you really have to fight in front of my house...? Inside of the village...where people aren't trusting you as much...?" Sage asked, looking over at him. She wasn't mad, just, worried. She had already known about Melaney planning on challenging Nathan to a fight.

But, doing it inside of the city where he was already hated...?

"If they ask it was training." Nathan responded. He didn't really care for what the villagers thought of him. "The lightning was too quick to draw too much attention."

"Alright..." Sage said with a small sigh.

Melaney mumbled something about being a servant and drew herself next to Sage.

"...What...?" Sage asked, unsure if she actually heard what she thought she heard.

"Her idea was to have conditions to the fight." Nathan said with a frown. "I couldn't think of one for if I won and then when I said that she'd only have to be on my debt she started going on about being a servant."

"Is this true, Melaney...?" Sage asked, looking at the girl.

Melaney nodded silently.

Sage sighed and look between the two. Then, she rubbed her forehead as she felt the headache coming back on.

Tom stepped out of a wall beside Jayden, scratching his beard as he did.

"Ready to go?"

Melaney mumbled an apology, looking at the ground.

Again the magic user sighed. "Why...why did you bet yourself...?"

"B-because..." Melaney mumbled.

"I'm not going to interfere with what you do. Whatever choices you make, they're yours to deal with," Sage then said, shaking her head. "I don't want to know what the conditions were. I didn't hear anything about this."

"I-i'm a b-big girl!" Melaney mumbled, "S-so I can h-handle m-myself...I-i just n-need a l-little h-help.."

Sage frowned....when did she say that Melaney wasn't... "If you do need help, I'll always help."

Melaney nodded and shuffled closer to Sage.

"As long as you both are ok, I'm happy and didn't hear anything," Sage said, then wondered if her house was alright...it was charmed a bit after all... Thus, why it was always clean.

She was actually more worried about the broom.
