As usual, though, when it came to Kira's welfare, when Luke's mind was set on something it was very difficult to change. He didn't want to risk Kira getting worse because he had failed her, so he kept going to the treehouse.

"I'll manage, we need to get you home," he insisted as they moved.

"We're...we're almost there... I c-can walk..." Kira continued to protest, biting her lip. She didn't want to see Luke hurt just because her immune system wasn't very good.

"If...If you say so," he replied, setting her down. Looking back on what he had done, he realised he had a history of overreacting when it came to Kira's wellbeing.

Kira smiled slightly, when Luke put her down, wrapping his arm over her shoulder so he could lean on her as she walked a bit unsteadily towards the treehouse.

A vine pulled them up into the treehouse, where Kira placed the frames on the table, before promptly sitting down on her bed, breathing heavily. "I-I'll check y-your...your leg..."

Kira opened her mouth to protest, before giving in. "O-Okay..." she murmured, laying down and closing her eyes, shivering beneath her blanket.

"A-Alright..." Kira responded, a vine ladder forming from the treehouse to the ground, so Luke wouldn't be trapped if she fell asleep.

"Disgusting," Adeline hissed. "Killing people just for entertainment..."
"We're performers," the boy said as he rolled up his sleeve, revealing a gold watch. "We'll perform for you, and in return, you'll entertain us. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll finish this hunt." He pressed a button on his watch and disappeared.

"I'll come along." Nathan said calmly. "She's in the forest right?" He queried.

With a snap of his fingers a guy wearing sun glasses made himself known and nodded at Nathan before disappearing in a swirl of mist.

"The medic will meet us on the outskirts."
