Kira stopped crying when the jacket was fixed, hugging it happily. "Thank you, Sage...but you should stay...away from him. He hurt Luke, he has no respect for women, and no idea of responsibility," she stated, her voice cold.

"I...I'm going home," she muttered after a moment of silence, trekking off in the opposite direction of the forest, a trail of plants following her. She was too drunk and upset to care.

Sage looked up at Kira, watching her walk away. "I'll help him..." she said to herself, maybe to Nathan if he could hear her...or maybe Melaney. Sage stumbled a little.

Hearing what Kira said immediately cancelled out the effect of what Sage had said and Nathan's frame sagged. "Maybe you should take her advice."

"Someone as beautiful as you doesn't need me corrupting your life." He said. "Cause if I get close to you and care for you, I'll end up hurting you."

Sage sighed and knelt down again to face Nathan. "Listen to me...Nathan...I'll help you...I'll be your friend..." she said, giving a smile.

Nathan merely grunted at Luke before muttering. "A little appreciation for what I have actually done for the both of you might not go amiss."

But other than he decided to just try and enjoy his time with Sage.

"I was on the same team as Melaney," Sage said, "I spelt over half the time, in my room reading Latin books...or getting lost..." she then added in sheepishly.

"Oh." Nathan said before shrugging. "I'm glad you didn't know me in the tournament, you wouldn't like me now."

"I don't know if you were around when Heidi and Paul left, but you might remember seeing Luke badly wounded..." He added with a sad sigh. "I regret it but it was my fault."

"I remember...trying to heal him, but for some reason, it wouldn't work." Sage then frowned. "And I wouldn't hate you...I don't hate anyone. Usually, I do get mad for an hour...at most." Sage admitted, when she was sober, she wouldn't even admit that.

Kira blinked, for some reason unable to find her forest. Where had it gone? She reluctantly followed the trail of plants back towards the party, hoping Luke could help her home. She needed a hug anyway.

"Two of them to be exact!" He all but yelped as he grinned. "The first, is that despite what everyone in this village thinks about me and how much they hate me. I will go as far as to die to protect them if it means that I can make up for doing them wrong. I've never hated any of them and never will."
