"It's okay for you to say it out loud, Tom. How much you dislike her. It's not like she's ever going to get in control again to do anything about it," Mary chuckled, eying the snakes with amusement.

"Thanks," Tom said to the snakes, politely if belatedly. Then he had to suppress a growl at Mary's words. "I meant what I said. Heidi isn't useless."

Mary paused in thought, before smiling. "Oh, now I remember! She never told you! That's how you can think she doesn't deserve to die," she explained.

Nathan appeared in front of Heidi with his gaze dark.

"How pathetic, you really are weak Heidi." He spat irritably. "You couldn't save Mary or Benji and now... because of you're inability to control yourself. Simon's going to die."

He clenched his fist at what he now deemed was a lost cause. "You have two minutes to gain control again or you will be incapacitated and left to rot out here alone."

Mary paused for a second, her eyes flickering green for a moment. "Oh, that really scared her. Too bad she can't get out. I'm in control now," she sighed. "Though I'm glad to see someone here agrees with me!"

Nathan smirked. "How about you..." He started his gaze focusing on her. "Do you feel fear?"

"Fair enough." Nathan said before turning his back on Mary and walking away.

Or that's what it looked like at least. Exactly two seconds later, Nathan was no longer visible and instead the entire weight of his raw flow hammering down on her. And it was laboured with killing intent.

Another two seconds later and Mary felt a darkness tendril wrap around her chest and beginning to squeeze.

Mary took a defensive position as the Flow pounded down on her, but when she felt the tendril tightening around her, she relaxed again. "Go ahead, kill her~ Heidi thinks she deserves it anyway, since she screwed things up with Simon."

Nathan smirked and tightened the grip before wrapping her entire body in tendrils.

"You surely must've been keeping tabs on us." He mused as he looked 'Mary' right in the eye. "So you know what I can do... and now I'm going to hurt you."

Telepathy blossomed and with the extra help from Empathy Nathan managed to send a pain full spike of energy directly into the concious of Mary whilst at the same time completely avoiding Heidi's own concious.

At the same time he broadcast a message to Heidi. "Stop being so weak! Fight this or I might just go kill everyone in your village because just like you they'll be burdens."

Mary let out an animalistic scream, before her eyes changed back to green and Heidi started struggling against the darkness.

"Nathan you bastard I will fucking kill you if you hurt any of them!" she screamed at him in one breath.

"You can't kill me!" Nathan scoffed as he fuelled Heidi's instinct to protect everyone using Empathy. "You can barely control yourself. Which is why we find ourselves in this predicament."

He let the darkness tendrils fall and he stared at the adult.

"That better work," Tom warned Nathan, shutting off his own Flow to prevent its calming influence calming Heidi down.

"So what? If you hurt them in any way, I will destroy you!" Heidi yelled at Nathan, grabbing one of the knives from her pocket and clenching it, before throwing it at Nathan. She had three shots, if she didn't kill him he'd hurt the village. He'd hurt Simon.

Turning to Tom, a betrayed look surfaced in her eyes. "Don't turn off your Flow, help me! He's going to kill Simon!"

A look of relief washed over Heidi's face, before she dropped to the ground in a sitting position, struggling to get everything sorted out in her head. She needed to go back to the village. That stupid Flow of hers had almost told Tom everything.
