"I-I think I left th-the matches i-in the house..." Kira mumbled, more so to herself than Luke, walking back towards the treehouse.

"O-Okay..." Kira frowned, though she didn't do anything to argue. "I-I'll go g-get some w-water, then, a-and you st-start the fire..." she trailed off, continuing on her way to the treehouse to get a metal pot.

Holding the pot, Kira went down to the river. I hope Luke doesn't try to push his Flow so much... she thought, letting out a sigh.

Luke lit the fire without overdoing his Flow, letting the wood do the job of keeping the fire reasonably large and well-tended.

Kira neared the fire, carrying the pot of water, and watching the fire warily. "Uh...th-this needs boiled..." she mumbled, holding the pot of water out to Luke.

Luke hung it above the fire, gently manipulating the heat to boil it quicker.

Kira moved towards the ice box, pulling out some noodles and a jar of tomato sauce she'd made a while ago. She didn't usually eat anything but fruit and vegetables, but with Luke around she supposed a little more variety was necessary.

As she walked back towards the fire, she held out the jar of noodles to Luke. "I-I don't know h-how long they cook for..." she mumbled.

"We'll just test 'em as we go. I remember how they're supposed to be, we should be fine," Luke replied reassuringly, taking the food off her. He supposed he needed to cook the noodles for a short while before he added the sauce, if he remember rightly. He'd had to cook a few times at home in his house, but he didn't think he'd done noodles, and anyway, he didn't remember specifics.

"Sauce is h-heated separately...th-this jar should be fine, j-just stick it in th-the fire a few minutes b-before the noodles are d-done..." Kira clarified, smiling slightly.

Luke sniffed the air, a grim expression on his face, one of his non-childlike ones.

"He's heading right for the village at breakneck speeds. Who the hell is this guy? Should we check it out?"

The figure kept moving, unable to sense Flows, and was not about to stop now.

"Stay here, I'm going to check it out. I don't want someone dangerous roaming around in your forest," Luke replied, grabbing his knives and sword and moving to intercept the figure.

The figure stopped when they head movemnt. They quickly pulled out a small knife with a shaking hand.

A knife whistled past the figure's shoulder, sliding to a halt in the mud a ways away. It was a warning shot, Luke missing on purpose.

"'Lo there mate."

The figure turned to the much larger Luke, shaking as they raised their knife. "...S-stay away!"

The figure was relatively small. There was no way they were a teen.

"...S-stay away from me!" The figure yelled, fear in their voice, as they backed up.
