"I-I think that most of th-them are old enough t-to have learned basic math i-in school...other th-than that, how much of th-the stuff we learned in school is useful?" Kira asked, frowning as she tried to remember what she actually used that she learned in school.

Kira frowned in thought, turning her body and watching the long skirt of her dress swish back and forth. It was rather amusing, even still. "We should play the question game!" she smiled, breaking the short awkward pause. "Y-You can go first, if you want." At least this would probably keep from awkward silences.

"The question game? Questions about what?" Luke asked, a puzzled expression on his face. Despite the short beard and the rather haunted eyes, Luke's expressions still looked rather comically like his thirteen year old self.

Kira frowned, pulling at her hair in thought for a bit. "...Wh-What did you do wh-while you'd d-disappeared...?" she asked after a short pause, glancing around the forest.

"Well after the tournament I decided that I needed some time alone, so I wandered off. I could still do the basics with my Flow, so I could survive. I came across all sorts of people, saw a whole load of wonders of this new world. I got roped into helping some people, probably bolstered my reputation. Hopefully, anyway. I remember I ran into one of those crazy beasts, like what we saw in the tournament. It was kinda like a dragon, and it kept wrecking this village a burning crops. Those people that didn't have to go through the tournament, they were so weak and inexperienced, even I was stronger than them. I managed to kill the dragon, and got some supplies off it."

"Then I went back to wandering. Helped one side in a localised little war, managed to turn the tide a little bit. I left before it got messy. Made a living from hunting, mainly, and trading what I had when I got to villages. Had more than a few run-ins with raiders. Kept tabs on Nathan's people for a while, got bored and left. Almost came back a whole bunch of times, but you know... memories, water under the bridge. Whole bunch of interesting escapades, actually, too many to go into detail."

"That's...kind of horrible, that the t-t-tournament affected outsiders..." Kira mumbled. "But that sounds a lot more interesting th-than over here! I...stayed in the village for the f-first year, but I m-moved out here after that... I-I don't think I l-left until N-N-Nathan...s-said we'd f-find you..."

"I thought that. I was here once, a few months in, but I left. Couldn't bring myself to go back to the village," Luke replied, a bit guiltily.
