Kira nodded again, standing up, a branch growing out of the ground, before she snapped it off. She dropped back down to the ground, clutching the stick tightly in her hands.

Luke accepted the staff gratefully, his left hand opening to let the ashed of the old one float away in the wind. He supported himself with a mixture of the staff and Kira's offered support.

Kira stood up, helping Luke to his feet, slinging one of his arms over her shoulders so he could lean easier on her, before slowly guiding him back to the forest. She stayed quiet throughout the duration of the trip, her mind wallowing in the past.

Luke made no attempt at conversation, but he was noticeably more relaxed when they entered the forest. In his mind, the forest was already becoming synonymous with 'safe haven', and he began to wonder how long he was going to stay.

Kira stopped in front of the treehouse, looking over at Luke. Her eyes were still red from crying, but she didn't give any other indication that she'd been doing just that. "D-Do you w-want t-to go up...?" she asked, biting her lip.

Kira nodded, a vine taking both of them up. She helped Luke over to his bed. "D-Do you n-need me t-t-to g-get anything...?" she asked.

"No thanks, I should be fine," Luke replied, putting back on his amulet as he curled up into a ball. He didn't say anything about Sage, as he had no idea what Kira had been thinking about her.

Kira nodded, moving towards her bed and collapsing on top of it into a rather fitful sleep.

She stayed quiet for a little while, simply tossing and turning, before beginning to mumble.

Elena blinked awake, finding herself back in her bed at what's his name's house. Feeling a little sick to her stomach, she quickly left the house again, wondering where Simon went.
