"I've been using my Flow for five years solid to see. Not much I can do if the Rebound Effect starts to hit." The earth stopped moving, but Tom didn't move either, still looking rather troubled and distracted.

Tom's eyes turned blue, but he was still unable to move, Tom's influence keeping the body in place even as Shima took control of the mouth.

"Well, well. It seems to be mostly about Shima, but also a great degree of stress built up over five years, and caused by... me," Shima grinned, even that action seeming different to Tom's, but at the same time very much alike.

Heidi froze, before jumping to her feet, breaking her spear in half and stabbing them into the pillar, using them to climb up to the top. Pulling herself about halfway onto the top, she looked up, seeing the blue tint in Tom's eyes.

"Get out of his head!" she snarled angrily, pushing herself onto the top of the pillar.

"Eithne tried that before. Even banged our head against a wall for emphasis. That didn't work. You think yelling at me's going to make me leave?" the man chuckled. "Oh, it's been a while. I just need the slightest chink in Tom's armour, and with me around, he can't recover, and he gets emotional, like he never used to. It's just a downward spiral from there, really."

Horror flickered through Heidi's eyes, before her brave front was back up. "You're dead, Shima, so stay the hell out of the world of the living. Leave Tom alone!"

"I'm more than just Shima now, Heidi. Five years controlling this brain, he started rubbing off on me. I'm as much Tom as I am Shima," the blind man declared, Tom's influence keeping his legs locked sitting down. "I'm definitely not dead, Heidi, I think you'll agree. And while leaving Tom alone sounds very appealing, I think I'll have to pass, sorry."
